L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) and the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS), University of New South Wales (UNSW), offer health care professionals a truly unique, flexible innovative Community Eye Health program. This program can be taken either one year full time or on a part basis over a longer period. The individual courses (insert link to Program Outline) can be taken without enrollment in the program.
Since its establishment, L V Prasad Eye Institute has provided services to over 15 million people and trained over 14,000 eye care professionals. Through its community eye health arm, the International Centre for Advancement of Rural Eye care (ICARE), LVPEI has been engaged with service delivery, planning, training, research and advocacy efforts in India and the developing world. ICARE training and education is offered under the Ramachandra Pararajasegaram Community Eye Health Education Centre.
